After finally recording a fully orchestrated version of this song sans vocals (I lived with a guitar only version for a while seeking inspiration) I had a moment of disillusionment as I listened to it the next day after recording and it sounded like a hair metal track left over from 1986. So I wrote up some lyrics, changed the gender from he to she, made some judicious mixing and EQing changes and came up with something a little less 80s. And of course this is quite possibly the most out of tune singing I contribute to the entire collection. And that's saying something...

Old shoes on her feet
Thinks back on a lifetime
Spent wandering the streets

Been so many places
Travelled round the world
Seen so many faces
Walked so many roads

Still she keeps on searching
For where she belongs
And someone to share in
Her life's song

At the end of the day
Someone there who wants to share their lives
At the end of the day

She thinks of the people
That have come and gone
And the few that seemed special
That eventually moved on

With so many memories
Puts her back to the sun
And continues the journey
