Originally titled "HUM" cumberthumpin was released in the winter/Christmas 2002 season. For some reason I either have the most inspiration around Christmas time, or (the more likely choice) I have more time around the holiday season, which intrinsically seems wrong, but that's what I get for working at a seasonal job. After summer, okay, now it's after Halloween, My time tends to free up for a few months.

I've had a long standing feud with the drum sounds on my recordings. I would love nothing more than a real live drummer on everything that I do, but there are far too many factors which inhibit that luxury. With cumberthumpin I decided to try the next best thing, loop CDs. I was a little unsure at first, but I am a firm believer now.It's like having a real drummer without having a real drummer. Don't get me wrong, the sequencer still has it's uses, it won't be going away quite yet. Oh yeah, dig it.

But enough of my yakkin', let's get om with it, shall we?

Quite simply, everything on the album is todd, with the exception of the actual drum performances, of course. All guitars, bass, keyboards, voices and drum programming were performed by todd. I used Sonic Foundry's Acid exclusively for loop programming, which I quite enjoyed.
