about

When it came time to put together a collection of music for the 2003 Holiday season I realized that I had been focusing so much on composing orchestral music that I really did not have any tunes that I would normally consider giving out to folks. I decided that I would compile the material I had been working on and release that. So I did.

There are actually quite a few pieces on this disc that I would not (and even at the time didn't really) consider finished or ready to be released. However, in the spirit of giving and sonic experimentation I let it all go. My primary goal with this material was working towards creating music for a purpose; for a video game or a film, something to that effect. Many of the pieces were a true emotional representation of myself, but for most there was an ulterior motive, and I feel that is evident at many times throughout this disc.

Someday in the future I may try and do something orchestral solely for for the sake of creating beatiful music, but most likely will not release anything until I can at least attempt to have the pieces performed by actual musicians. The electronic tools have their place, but I am steadily attempting to represent the music within myself in the best possible form.

The source for this collection is (with the exception of the guitars) completely electronic. The music was composed in the computer and was replicated with the use of sound samples and keyboard sounds. The guitars I played live, although without the use of an amplifier. The guitar tones are from a little Line6 Pod GPort computer direct box dealio.
